Reiki (pronounced ray-kee) is a light-touch healing technique developed in Japan a century ago. Reiki taps into the energy referred to as "ki" in Japan, "chi" in China, and "prada" in India. The awareness that an unseen energy flows through all things and directly affects the quality of a person's health has been the wisdom of many cultures throughout history. This pure energy surrounds us at all times.
Reiki allows us to re-charge, dissolve blocks, and heal on a deep level -- healing body, mind, and spirit. From simple issues to the more complex, Reiki can help with:
~ pre- & post-surgery to both prepare the body and speed healing
~ stress and anxiety
~ chronic & acute conditions (migraines, skin conditions, chronic diseases)
~ major illnesses (cancer, heart, lungs, etc.)
~ habits (smoking, eating, etc.) and creating healthy ones
~ grief, anxiety, fears, depression
~ handling various life changes (divorce, job loss, illness, death)
~ releasing the "I'm stuck" syndrome
~ pain (physical and emotional) - explained or unexplained
~ injuries and broken bones
~ strengthening the immune system
~ pregnancy & infertility
~ new baby "issues" (colic, gas, etc.)
~ end of life issues
~ pets need - and love - Reiki, too (for all of the above)
Dis-ease and physical conditions often have an emotional beginning (example: the heart attack that occurs after a painful divorce). Stress and other situations can cause disharmony which results in what we call dis-ease. Deep Reiki healing brings the body, mind, and spirit back to its natural state of harmony so that healing can occur. Often, deep-seated issues are released easily and effortlessly. And by dissolving blocks and restoring harmony, it is often much easier to make lifestyle changes (diet, exercise, smoking, etc.)
It is also possible that today's Reiki session could dissolve some emotional energy and/or blocks that are not yet "visible", thus preventing that energy from becoming toxic and creating disease later on in your life.
Reiki is safe for anyone - at any age or stage of life. As a pure, loving energy, Reiki always goes where YOU need it and for your highest good.
Reiki is often used in combination with standard western medical care and in conjunction with any medications. Currently, over 800 hospitals across the United States offer Reiki to their patients. Among these are Yale-New Haven Hospital, Dana-Farber/Harvard Cancer Institute, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, and Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. Research shows that, at a minimum, Reiki improves sleep, reduces pain and nausea, and reduces anxiety during childbirth. More and more, the general medical community is learning about Reiki and how we can work together.
"Reiki ... may ultimately be the most important
alternative treatment of all." Dr. Mehmet Oz
(in an episode of his TV show discussing alternative healing modalities).
